Ideal For Students and Professionals

The Mini 110 is powered by Intel Atom N270 Processor and its makers have set out to prove that it's not only ideal for the student doing small web-based tasks like plagiarism checking or writing their first vacation rental script for a php scripting course, but for the professional tasks as well such as graphics and CAD applications.

Trendy Colors. Yay. (sigh)

There are several trendy colors and styles from which to choose from including, the Black Swirl or White Swirl imprint lid designs, or the Pink Chic finish, and in this "image is everything" world, having choices for the consumers is a smart move.

Form Factor

From a visual standpoint, the Mini 110 looks sleek, elegant and sophisticated and has no problem standing out from the pack. This Netbook also has a number of preinstalled applications like the Syncables, as mentioned earlier, which is ideal for the professional to travel light with their Mini 110 and once home, is able to transfer pictures and data to their main PC in no time at all. Likewise, the student can easily fit this Mini 110 in their shoulder bag or purse instead of having to carry their bulkier Notebook from class to class. Additional features include the pre-loaded Windows XP Proffessioal and the 10.1" widescreen which makes it easy to view the screen from any sitting position. With up to 6 hours of battery life, this Netbook makes a perfect travel companion for the student or the professional.

The Downsides

The only potential downside to this new model is the obvious thickness compared to last years Mini 1000 model which was necessary to make room for the new features. But with the pricing set the way it is, it is a great trade-off and a fantastic buy!

HP MINI 110 NETBOOK

Starting at only $299, this lightweight mobile companion weighs in at only 2.6 pounds and is only 1.3 inches thick. Although a tad bigger than its predecessor, the Mini 1000, this new design made some daring improvements but with a lower price tag. Depending on who you talk to, this netbook could be considered the best that HP has out there.

Features

With features like a VGA port, an Ethernet Port, a built-in webcam, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3 USB ports, and a 5-in-1 memory card reader, the Mini 110 is causing their competitors (Acer Aspire One, Dell Inspiron Mini 9, i.e) to take notice. This 10.1 inch anti-glare widescreen model has upgraded their slow spinning hard drive from 4,200-rpm to a 5,400-rpm with options to upgrade.

Recommended Upgrades

Other options to upgrade is the 23Wh battery to a 55-Wh battery which is comparable to other models on the market. Another smart move for this Netbook is the 92% keyboard making typing problem-free. The picture quality is great for movie viewing or games. To top it all off, this models includes with it the Syncables Desktop solution, allowing effortless synchronization of files between the HP Mini and any primary PC or Notebook. This makes it easy to travel light yet still give you all the access you need.
